RESIDENTS URGED TO FINALISE PREPARATIONS AHEAD OF WORSENING FIRE CONDITIONS Queensland firefighters to lend a hand to Victorian comrades Mudgeeraba 52 & 51 were called to a fire on Austinville Rd on 17.1.09. MRFB were out in the storms on Sunday to provide help to people affected by the storms. Mudgeeraba 52 and an urban appliance 633A (Burleigh Station) were responded in the early hours of Sunday morning to a car fire on Gold Coast - Springbrook Rd. After arriving onscene it was determined that the vehicle had been stolen. As the urban service were having a busy morning and there was no need for a BA crew, it was decided that 633A should return back to their station while Mudgeeraba 52 would remain onscene and extinguish the smouldering car. MRFB is beginning 2008 training tonight with FM1 study. Good news for Queensland Ten Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (QFRS) rural and urban crews (including Mudgeeraba 52) and two helicopters attended a large bushfire in the vicinity of Tarrabool Drive and Guineas Creek Road, Elanora. Today, 24.10.07 two units from Mudgeeraba RFB were responded to a grass fire at Zimmerman Crt, Gilston. Other brigades in attendence included Gilston, Bonogin, two urban units and two helitacks. Properties had been threatened by the fire but it is now under control. Gilston RFB will monitor the fire overnight. Mudgeeraba 41 was requested at approximately 13:00 on Saturday 13.10.07 to assist Bonogin Valley RFB extinguish a small bush fire in Davenport Dr. The crews from Bonogin Valley RFB had done an excellent job of containing the fire and due the topography of the fire ground, an extra light attack vehicle was required to assist with making the area safe. MRFB Annual General Meeting will be held 11th September 2007, 7pm @ the fire station. Three trucks turned out to assist urban crews control a large grassfire near the train lines at Robina. Crews from MRFB attended the recent fires at Mt Nathan. Hi All, Firstly , please accept my apologies for not updating the website before now. With all that has been going on its amazing how time gets away on you. We have had a number of fires since the last entry, help our counter parts in NSW, a MVA (motor Vehicle Accident) various meetings, our yearly Stomp and the list goes on. Emergency crews will spend the night monitoring a bushfire that has caused problems at Bonogin on the Gold Coast. On Saturday and Sunday the 21st and 22nd October 2006, Mudgeeraba Rural Fire Brigade was invited to attend Pacific Fair Shopping Centre on a Bush Fire Awareness Campaign. It was amazing the amount of interest from those people living closer to the coast and this was also shown by their generosity. According to a statement from the RFS made on the ABC this morning, Queensland's bushfire season is officially over for this year..........
The fire began at 10am Thursday 25.10.07 and eventually burnt out an area of approximately 1000 square metres.
Sixty people were evacuated from The Beachwood Townhouses as a precaution and were allowed to return after back burning operations were completed around the properties.
